Made-to-Order Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger — Custom Sizes, Ports & Materials

The Thermal Transfer Products BPW Series is a made-to-order brazed plate heat exchanger for high-efficiency liquid cooling, engineered to your specific application. Where the standard BPSW Series offers a fixed range of off-the-shelf models, the BPW is the build-to-order version — you specify the plate size, number of plates, port configuration, and material options to match your exact flow, heat load, and approach temperature.

Like all of TTP’s brazed plate exchangers, it’s rugged, compact, and cost-effective, running reliably over long service periods with minimal maintenance. High plate-channel turbulence drives efficient heat transfer and lets the BPW perform effectively even at close approach temperatures, where the two fluid temperatures are near each other and cooling is hardest to achieve. The turbulent flow also resists scaling and fouling. Standard construction uses 316 stainless steel plates and connectors with a copper braze (nickel braze optional for deionized water, ammonia, or other aggressive fluids).

The series carries a maximum working pressure of 450 PSI (31 bar), a test pressure of 650 PSI (44 bar), and an operating range from -320°F to 437°F (-196°C to 225°C), making it suitable for hydraulic oil cooling, lube oil cooling, and water-to-water process duty. Application engineers can configure and size the right BPW for your system, and TTP’s XSelector® sizing program helps optimize the selection.

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a made-to-order brazed plate heat exchanger from Thermal Transfer Products, configured to your application with customizable plate sizes, ports, and materials — for high-efficiency oil-to-water and water-to-water cooling.

The BPSW is a range of standard, off-the-shelf models with fast delivery. The BPW is build-to-order — you customize size, ports, and materials for application-specific needs. Choose BPSW for speed and standardization; choose BPW when a standard model doesn’t fit your duty or connections.

You can specify plate series and plate count (which set the capacity), port/connection configuration, and material options. TTP’s brazed plate lineup spans many plate-size and plate-count combinations, so the unit can be tailored closely to your flow and heat load.

Maximum working pressure is 450 PSI (31 bar), test pressure 650 PSI (44 bar), with an operating range of -320°F to 437°F (-196°C to 225°C).

316 stainless steel plates and connectors, 304 stainless stud bolts, and a copper braze as standard — with a nickel braze option for deionized water, ammonia, or other aggressive fluids, and an optional carbon-steel foot bracket.

It packs far more heat-transfer surface into a smaller, lighter package, handles high pressure and temperature without gaskets, and its turbulent flow resists fouling — ideal where space is limited.
