Forged Brass Y-Strainer — Pipeline Debris Protection for Coolers & Valves

The Y-Strainer is a heavy-duty inline pipeline strainer that protects heat exchangers, temperature-control valves, pumps, and other equipment from pipe scale, weld slag, and debris carried in the fluid line. Installed upstream of the component it protects, it captures particulate in a stainless steel screen that’s easily removed and cleaned through the screwed cap — inexpensive insurance against fouling and premature wear.

Constructed of forged brass for strength and corrosion resistance, the strainer has an operating temperature range of -10°F to 250°F and is suitable for 600 WPG (water, oil, gas) service and 150 PSI WSP (working steam pressure), with a female × female threaded connection. The screwed caps are straight-threaded with PTFE gaskets for a reliable seal and simple servicing.

Screen selection scales with line size: a 304 stainless steel 50-mesh screen on ¼″ to 1″ sizes, and a 304 stainless steel 20-mesh screen on 1¼″ to 2″ sizes. The Y-Strainer pairs naturally with TTP’s water-cooled heat exchangers and control valves, protecting them from line debris in hydraulic, cooling-water, and process circuits.

It’s an inline pipeline strainer that traps scale, slag, and debris in a fluid line to protect downstream equipment — heat exchangers, valves, pumps — from fouling and damage. It’s named for its Y-shaped body.
