Industrial Applications
Brazed Aluminum
The Thermal Transfer Products AOL Series is an industrial air-cooled oil cooler built on a rugged brazed aluminum bar-and-plate core, engineered for outstanding heat dissipation under extreme heat loads in a lightweight, compact package. It uses forced ambient air to cool compressor lube oil, rotary screw compressor oil, and gearbox oils — and it’s an excellent choice for converting medium-to-large water-cooled compressors to air-cooled cooling, eliminating water and sewer costs.
The AOL is designed for vertical airflow, discharging warm air up and away rather than blowing it at operators or nearby equipment — a real advantage in occupied plant spaces and heat-recovery setups. It’s available with AC or hydraulic fan motors, and every unit uses an aggressive turbulator that produces ultra-high heat transfer per envelope size.
The series includes nine models with oil-flow capacities from 15 to 120 GPM (57–454 LPM), sized for compressors from 35 to 400 HP (26.1–298.3 kW), with a maximum operating pressure of 250 PSI and maximum operating temperature of 300°F. TTP’s XSelector® sizing program — available online and as a mobile app — helps optimize model selection for performance and value.

It’s an industrial air-cooled oil cooler from Thermal Transfer Products, built on a brazed aluminum bar-and-plate core, that uses forced ambient air to cool oil under high heat loads.
Rotary screw compressor oil, compressor lube oil, and gearbox oils — and it’s commonly used to convert water-cooled compressors to air-cooled cooling.
It directs hot exhaust air up and away from operators and equipment instead of blowing it across the work area — useful in occupied spaces and for heat recovery.
Nine models with oil flow from 15 to 120 GPM (57–454 LPM), sized for compressors from 35 to 400 HP (26.1–298.3 kW), with a maximum operating pressure of 250 PSI and maximum operating temperature of 300°F.
AC or hydraulic fan motors, so you can match the drive to the power available at the installation.
Both use brazed aluminum bar-and-plate cores. The AOL is specifically configured for vertical airflow and is oriented toward compressor and gearbox oil cooling; the BOL/BOLR has horizontal air flow and is available with T-BAR core and bypass options. Confirm which fits your mounting and airflow needs.
