The Thermal Transfer Products HCR Series is a bare-bundle, water-cooled shell and tube heat exchanger with a removable tube bundle designed for easy service. Its defining feature: the tube bundle can be pulled out for cleaning or exchange while the shell stays mounted in place and the shell connections remain undisturbed — so you don’t have to unbolt piping or remove the entire cooler to service it.
That serviceability translates directly into lower cost of ownership. When a bundle fouls or wears, you replace only the tube-bundle portion rather than buying and installing a complete cooler, which cuts downtime and labor and delivers a quicker payback. It also makes the HCR well suited to fouling-prone or dirty-water service where periodic cleaning is a fact of life.
The HCR is ideal for hydraulic oil cooling and compressed air cooling, with a maximum shell-side operating pressure of 300 PSI. It’s the serviceable, removable-bundle counterpart to TTP’s fixed-tubesheet HC Series — the same proven water-to-oil cooling, with a bundle you can pull. TTP’s XSelector® sizing program — available online and as a mobile app — helps select the right model for your flow, heat load, and cooling-water conditions.

It’s a water-cooled, bare-bundle shell and tube heat exchanger from Thermal Transfer Products with a removable tube bundle, designed so the bundle can be serviced or replaced without disturbing the shell or its piping.
On a fixed-tubesheet cooler like the HC, servicing a fouled or failed core often means replacing the whole unit. On the HCR, you pull just the tube bundle while the shell stays mounted and connected — cleaning or swapping the bundle instead of the entire cooler.
You replace only the bundle, not a complete cooler, and you avoid unbolting and re-plumbing the shell connections. That reduces parts cost, labor, and downtime — giving a faster payback, especially in fouling-prone service.
Hydraulic oil cooling and compressed air cooling, particularly where periodic cleaning or bundle replacement is expected and easy serviceability matters.
Maximum shell-side operating pressure is 300 PSI.
Same water-to-oil, bare-bundle cooling. The HC is the fixed-tubesheet, lowest-cost standard; the HCR adds a removable bundle for serviceability. Choose HC for lowest upfront cost, HCR when in-place cleaning and bundle replacement lower your lifetime cost.
