Combination Air-Cooled Oil Cooler & Compressed Air Aftercooler for Rotary Screw Compressors

The Thermal Transfer Products ACOC/ACOCH Series is a combination air-cooled oil cooler and compressed air aftercooler engineered specifically for rotary screw air compressors. In a single, compact, side-by-side brazed aluminum bar-and-plate core, it handles two jobs at once — cooling compressor lubricating oil and cooling compressed air — so you don’t need separate heat exchangers.

The all-aluminum design is lightweight, corrosion-resistant, and easy to mount, with detachable legs on the ACOC and fixed mounting feet on the ACOCH. That makes the series ideal for converting water-cooled compressor cooling systems to air-cooled, retrofitting existing units in the field, fitting into space-constrained equipment rooms, and mounting in remote locations. Switching from water-cooled to air-cooled cooling eliminates ongoing water and sewer costs and the corrosion and scaling problems common to water-cooled heat exchangers, and the vertical airflow works well for heat-recovery applications.

The ACOC/ACOCH Series includes fifteen models with air flow capacities from 175 to 1,800 SCFM (4.96–50.97 SCMM), sized for rotary screw compressors from 15 to 360 HP (11.2–268.5 kW). Application engineers can help you select and size the right model for your compressor and operating conditions.

The Thermal Transfer Products AB Series is a high-performance, water-cooled compressed air aftercooler that uses supplied cooling water to cool compressed air or gas discharged from piston (reciprocating) compressors. By dropping the temperature of the hot discharge air, it condenses moisture out of the compressed air stream and protects downstream piping, tools, and dryers.

The AB uses a shell-and-tube design built with round copper tubes, so the air-side tube bundle can be easily removed, cleaned, and maintained — a key advantage in dirty or oily compressed-air service where finned or plate coolers foul and can’t be cleaned. The brass hub-and-shell construction protects against galvanic and other forms of corrosion, extending service life in water-side environments. The design can also be dismantled for cleaning or repair, and capacity can be increased by adding plates in pairs.

The series includes ten models with flow capacities from 40 to 3,170 SCFM (1.1–89.8 SCMM), suitable for both piston and rotary screw compressors, with a maximum operating pressure of 250 PSI and a maximum operating temperature of 350°F. TTP’s XSelector® sizing program — available online and as a mobile app — helps select the right model for your airflow, inlet temperature, and cooling-water conditions.

Reservoir-Mounted Finned-Tube Oil Cooler — Tank-Flange “Green Cooler”

The Thermal Transfer Products EKT Series is a reservoir-mounted, water-cooled finned-tube oil cooler for hydraulic power units. It’s a tank-flange version of the EK “Green Cooler” — the finned-tube bundle mounts through a flange directly into the hydraulic reservoir, so the cooler sits inside the tank instead of in an external cooling line. That eliminates external plumbing and mounting hardware, saves space, and simplifies integration into the hydraulic power unit.

Like the rest of the Green Cooler family, its aluminum finned-tube bundle provides increased surface area for high heat rejection while using less cooling water than a conventional bare-tube exchanger — a cost- and water-saving advantage where cooling water is limited or expensive. An optional Surge-Cushion® bypass protects the core during cold starts and flow surges when cold, high-viscosity oil or sudden flow spikes would otherwise stress it.

Because the bundle is immersed in the reservoir, the EKT is rated for a lower shell-side pressure than the in-line EK — a maximum working shell pressure of 75 PSI, tube pressure of 150 PSI, and maximum operating temperature of 250°F. TTP’s XSelector® sizing program — available online and as a mobile app — helps select the right model for your reservoir, oil flow, and cooling-water conditions.

High-Capacity Finned-Tube Shell & Tube Oil Cooler — Water-Saving “Green Cooler”

The Thermal Transfer Products EC Series — the “Green Cooler” — is a high-capacity, water-cooled finned-tube shell and tube heat exchanger for hydraulic oil cooling. It’s the larger, higher-performance version of the EK Series, sharing the same finned-tube bundle core design but scaled up to handle flows up to 250 GPM for demanding, high-flow applications.

Its defining advantage is water efficiency: the aluminum finned-tube bundle adds substantial surface area, so the EC achieves high heat rejection while consuming far less cooling water than a conventional bare-tube shell and tube exchanger. That makes it an environmentally responsible, cost-saving choice wherever cooling water is metered, limited, or expensive — the reason it’s branded the Green Cooler.

An optional Surge-Cushion® bypass protects the core during cold starts and flow surges, and multiple material options let the EC serve a wide variety of applications, including sea water service. Maximum operating pressure is 300 PSI on the shell side. TTP’s XSelector® sizing program — available online and as a mobile app — helps select the right model for your oil flow, heat load, and cooling-water conditions.

Water-Cooled Off-Line Fluid Conditioning System — Cooling & Filtration with Integral Pump

The Thermal Transfer Products COLW Series is a water-cooled off-line fluid conditioning system for independent cooling and filtering of hydraulic and lube system oils. It runs as a self-contained loop — often called an off-line or “kidney loop” conditioning circuit — driven by reliable, high-performing, low-noise screw pump technology, so it conditions the reservoir continuously without depending on the main system’s flow.

High efficiency comes from its EK Series finned-tube shell & tube heat exchanger, whose extended aluminum finned-tube surface area achieves strong heat rejection while minimizing cooling-water consumption — an advantage for water-conscious and environmentally responsible operations. This makes the COLW well suited to large hydraulic power units, lube systems, and gearboxes where oil temperature and cleanliness must stay tightly controlled and a cooling-water supply is available.

Each package integrates the pump, motor, EK shell & tube exchanger, and optional filtration on one unit. Options include cartridge-style in-line filters for contamination control and thermostat temperature sensors for automatic control. Connections are standard SAE ports, with NPT and BSP port adapters available. TTP’s XSelector® sizing program — available online and as a mobile app — helps configure and size the right package for your reservoir volume, heat load, and filtration needs.

Made-to-Order Brazed Plate Heat Exchanger — Custom Sizes, Ports & Materials

The Thermal Transfer Products BPW Series is a made-to-order brazed plate heat exchanger for high-efficiency liquid cooling, engineered to your specific application. Where the standard BPSW Series offers a fixed range of off-the-shelf models, the BPW is the build-to-order version — you specify the plate size, number of plates, port configuration, and material options to match your exact flow, heat load, and approach temperature.

Like all of TTP’s brazed plate exchangers, it’s rugged, compact, and cost-effective, running reliably over long service periods with minimal maintenance. High plate-channel turbulence drives efficient heat transfer and lets the BPW perform effectively even at close approach temperatures, where the two fluid temperatures are near each other and cooling is hardest to achieve. The turbulent flow also resists scaling and fouling. Standard construction uses 316 stainless steel plates and connectors with a copper braze (nickel braze optional for deionized water, ammonia, or other aggressive fluids).

The series carries a maximum working pressure of 450 PSI (31 bar), a test pressure of 650 PSI (44 bar), and an operating range from -320°F to 437°F (-196°C to 225°C), making it suitable for hydraulic oil cooling, lube oil cooling, and water-to-water process duty. Application engineers can configure and size the right BPW for your system, and TTP’s XSelector® sizing program helps optimize the selection.

Shell & Tube Water-to-Oil Cooler — ITT/Standard Xchange Interchange (A/SA Series)

The Thermal Transfer Products A/SA Series is a bare-tube-bundle shell and tube heat exchanger for water-to-oil cooling, versatile enough to accommodate a wide range of application requirements. It was developed as a direct interchange for ITT/Standard Xchange (formerly Standard-Xchange / ITT Standard) shell and tube coolers, making it a straightforward replacement in existing installations built around those units.

Tube size scales with the unit: the 600 and 800 sizes use a ¼″ tube for greater surface area, while the 1000, 1200, and 1600 sizes use a 3/8″ tube for lower pressure drop. The A Series is built in non-ferrous brass construction, making it ideal for water-to-water cooling including sea water applications. The SA Series is a competitively priced steel-construction version, using steel and cast-iron components for a lower-cost solution aimed at standard hydraulic applications; the SA is available in 1200 and 1600 sizes only.

As a legacy interchange product, the A/SA Series is best suited to replacement and service of existing ITT/Standard Xchange installations. For new designs, TTP’s current bare-tube shell-and-tube lines (such as the B/SB or HC Series) may be the better starting point — TTP Application Engineering can advise on the right choice.

Case Drain Oil Cooler — Rear TEFC Motor-Mount, No Fan Required

The Thermal Transfer Products Industrial RM Series is a compact, low-cost, low-flow air-cooled oil cooler designed specifically for hydraulic case-drain cooling. It mounts on the rear of an existing TEFC (totally enclosed fan-cooled) electric motor and uses that motor’s own fan airflow to cool the oil — so it needs no fan or motor of its own, saving cost, space, and installation effort.

Its efficient design includes multiple-pass flow options as standard, and an adjustable mounting plate lets the cooler mate precisely with the electric motor’s fan (on the RM-19 and RM-22). Built with a copper-tube/aluminum-fin core, a protected steel cabinet, and a washable stainless air filter, it’s well suited to hydraulic power units where pump case-drain flow must be cooled without adding a dedicated cooling package.

The RM Series is offered in multiple sizes with SAE, NPT, or metric connections and mounting brackets included. TTP’s XSelector® sizing program — available online and as a mobile app — helps select the right model for your case-drain flow and heat load.
