Air Cooled, Brazed Aluminum
The Thermal Transfer Products MA Series is a rugged, high-performance air-cooled hydraulic oil cooler built for demanding mobile equipment cooling applications. It uses TTP’s proven brazed aluminum plate-and-bar core, engineered with an aggressive turbulator that produces ultra-high heat transfer in a compact, vibration-tolerant package suited to off-highway and mobile machinery.
You can select from a broad line of standard units as a core only — for integration into an existing cooling package — or as a complete fan pack. Fan-optioned units come with 12- or 24-volt DC or brushless DC axial fans. The brushless motor option delivers extended service life, a minimal electrical load at over 82% efficiency, custom fan-speed control, and lower ambient noise — important where battery draw and cab noise matter.
For temperature control, add the MAGHEX programmable fan controller and sensor: an easy-to-install, low-cost alternative to complex control systems that cycles the fan to hold target oil temperature. TTP’s XSelector® sizing program — available online and as a mobile app — helps optimize model selection for your flow rate, heat load, and available space.

It’s a rugged air-cooled hydraulic oil cooler from Thermal Transfer Products, built on a brazed aluminum plate-and-bar core and designed for demanding mobile equipment cooling applications.
Both. You can order standard units as a core only for integration into an existing package, or as a complete unit with a DC fan.
12- or 24-volt DC axial fans, or a brushless DC option. The brushless motor offers extended life, a minimal electrical load at over 82% efficiency, custom fan-speed control, and lower ambient noise.
On mobile equipment, it reduces electrical load on the vehicle’s system, runs quieter, lasts longer, and allows fan-speed tuning for efficiency and noise — advantages that matter when running off a battery or alternator.
A programmable fan controller and sensor that mounts to the cooler and cycles the fan to maintain a target oil temperature — a simple, low-cost alternative to complex control systems, set up with the MAGHEX magnetic wand.
Both use brazed aluminum bar-and-plate cores, but the MA Series is built for mobile equipment with DC/brushless fan options, while the BOL/BOLR Series is an industrial line with AC or hydraulic fan motors.
Yes, the DH Series is suitable for diesel-powered hydraulic systems. But it depends on heat to reject. MA Fan Option removes up to ~63 HP of heat; MA Core Only (using vehicle/engine airflow) removes up to ~142 HP. Calculate heat ≈ hydraulic input power × (1 − efficiency).
If the result is within those limits and 3–110 GPM flow, MA is suitable; otherwise select a higher-capacity cooler via XSelector® or contact Application Engineering.
Use fan pack when dedicated airflow is needed; use core-only when adequate vehicle airflow is available.
