Heat Exchanger
Hydraulic Oil Cooling, Compressed Air Cooling
Industrial Applications
Shell & Tube, Steel
The Thermal Transfer Products HC Series is a bare-bundle, fixed-tubesheet shell and tube heat exchanger that uses water to cool hydraulic oil, compressor lube oil, and compressed air. Its highly standardized design makes it one of the most cost-effective water-cooled heat exchangers available, and it remains an industry standard for value and long-term reliability.
The proven fixed-tubesheet construction keeps cost down while still supporting a wide range of options to meet specific application requirements, including multiple material choices. For corrosive or marine service, the HC-C variant is available with 90/10 copper-nickel (CuNi) tubing, bronze bonnets, and zinc anodes, as well as partial or full 316 stainless steel construction.
The series includes seventeen models with air-flow capacities from 75 to 1,500 SCFM (2.12–42.48 SCMM) or oil-flow capacities from 7 to 105 GPM (27–397 LPM), and heat rejection from 14 to 281 HP (10.4–209.5 kW). Maximum operating pressure is 300 PSI on the shell side and 150 PSI on the tube side, with a maximum operating temperature of 300°F. TTP’s XSelector® sizing program — available online and as a mobile app — helps optimize model selection for performance and value.

It’s a bare-bundle, fixed-tubesheet shell and tube heat exchanger from Thermal Transfer Products that uses water to cool oil or compressed air. It’s widely used as a cost-effective, reliable industry-standard cooler.
Hydraulic oil, compressor lube oil, and compressed air, using water as the cooling medium — common in industrial hydraulic systems, air compressors, and engine water circuits.
Seventeen standard models, with air flow from 75 to 1,500 SCFM (2.12–42.48 SCMM) or oil flow from 7 to 105 GPM (27–397 LPM), and heat rejection from 14 to 281 HP (10.4–209.5 kW).
Maximum operating pressure is 300 PSI (shell side) and 150 PSI (tube side), with a maximum operating temperature of 300°F.
Yes — the HC-C variant offers 90/10 copper-nickel tubing, bronze bonnets, and zinc anodes, plus partial or full 316 stainless steel construction.
The HC-C fixed-tubesheet design is a drop-in replacement for BASCO Series “500” units.
Yes. The HC Series can be plumbed into engine jacket water circuits to cool hydraulic oil or compressed air using existing engine coolant flow.
Ideal for stationary hydraulic power units, test stands, compressors, or engine-driven equipment where water cooling is available.
Cooling tubes are available in Steel, Copper Nickel, or Stainless Steel to suit different fluids and corrosion conditions.
